the bod & ted team…meet Maddy!

How would you describe your style?

I would say my style is classic but with a bohemian edge, for instance I’d easily be drawn to a beautifully cut blazer if it had something different in the detailing. I have a cupboard full of ankle boots as I find they make any outfit, especially in the unreliable British climate! I throw them on with anything, whether its a printed dress or jeans and a tee. I really admire Parisian style and am inspired by the way they always look so effortless.

What designers are you particularly fond of?

My all time favourite is Isabel Marant, she does such wearable but interesting pieces that you can wear year on year. I also love Maje for the same reason, Burberry for their tailoring and you can’t get better than Charlotte Olympia for statement shoes. I am also lusting after Mara Hoffmans beautiful swimwear and evening dresses that I spotted on holiday in Mykonos.

Is there a particular trend that you are buying into this season?

To be honest I’m not one to buy into many trends, but I have got a real obsession with leather – shorts, trousers, dresses – I’m drawn to anything made of it. I also really love pieces with embellishment – I’ve been after a sequin skirt for ages, and I quite like the tribal embellished shorts that Sass & Bide did this season.

What was your biggest fashion faux pas?

I blame my mother for this one. I’m not sure why, but she thought it would be cute for us to wear matching dresses occasionally, so we had a few matching ensembles. It makes me cringe just thinking about it! Luckily she’s given up on that now, and moved on to borrowing my clothes!

Tell us something we don’t know about you…

I am addicted to eBay! I must search 4 or 5 times a week to find designer bargains, or to sell some of my own stuff to make room for more!

What is your favourite bod & ted piece from this season?

Because of my love of French designers, I would have to say the ba&sh pieces, they’ve got that wearability with beautiful details – I have already bought the black Santiago shift dress with leather sleeves!
