tunbridge wells high street late night event!
On Thursday the 5th December there was only one place to be… the Tunbridge Wells high street! For one night only over 70 of the High Street shops came together for a late night Christmas shopping event….and what a fabulous night it was! Organised by our very own Sophie from here at bod & ted and the lovely Jo from Payne & Son. 
The doors were open until 9pm and everyone was feeling festive with cocktails, canapés, mince pies and mulled wine! The raffle tickets had been selling by the masses all day from a selection of shops on the high street – it was lovely to see such support for the wonderful Sussex and Kent Air ambulance and for the #lovetwhighstreet event! With over 60 amazing prizes donated by our local businesses including golf lessons, meals for two and £100 gift vouchers….it was no surprise everyone was hoping to get their hands on one of the fabulous prizes!
The shops and cafés had a great response from the general public and people were milling in the shops up and down the street …with most stores having up to 15% off there was no better time to get some presents ticked off the list!
The Royal Tunbridge wells choir filled the street with beautiful Christmas carols and at 8pm everyone came together at the Manna café where the town Mayor pulled out the first 15 raffle winners!
The evening proved to be a great success for all involved, and we can only say that next year will be bigger and better! We had lots of customers visiting the shop (some more for the cocktails than the clothes we might add!) and the whole High Street was buzzing. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved, including the fantastic Ron from Howard Cundey Estate Agents who helped design, print and distribute all the leaflets and who proudly sponsored our event. All our raffle ticket sellers with special thanks to the ladies at SW1 Hair & Beauty, Wood & Pilcher Estate Agents and Debbie from Java Bean. Thank you to Gavin at Freshpix and David Bartholomew for all the fantastic pictures of the evening and to Aaron from Manna Cafe for letting us use your space for the raffle prize draw. Another huge thank you also goes out to the Mayor and the Town Crier for joining us on this special evening, and to the Tunbridge Wells Choral Society for providing a beautiful soundscape!
