red carpet round up / 2016 Grammys and Baftas

It was a double whammy in the red carpet style stakes this week as we saw not one, but two big events – on either side of the Atlantic. As usual, the Grammys saw some fashion risks and some looks that you’ll either love or hate…it was however, some of the more classic looks that stole our hearts (apart from you Tay-Tay!) At the Baftas, celebrities battled the freezing cold to show us some truly beautiful gowns, so here are our top 3 looks from both sides of the pond.

Adele at the Grammys

In at number 3 is Adele, in classic Givenchy. Adele wears a lot of black on the red carpet (a girl after our own heart), but we love how the beautiful embroidery stops this from being too boring and the cinched in waist makes her figure look amazing. Love the vampy nails and undone ‘lob’!

Taylor Swift at the Grammys

Never one to shy away from a fashion risk, Taylor often appears on our red carpet round up. With a figure like hers, let’s face it, you’d look amazing in anything…but she totally rocks it at The Staples Centre in Atelier Versace. Love how she hasn’t gone matchy-matchy with the Stuart Weitzman shoes and that haircut is making us want to chop all of our hair off!

Ellie Goulding at The Grammys

We haven’t featured Ellie Goulding in one of our Red Carpet Round Ups to this date, but she is our total #1 from this years Grammys! In the palest pink custom Stella McCartney gown with chain detailing on the back, she finished off her look perfectly with subtle makeup and undone hair.

Rooney Mara

Our #3 from last weeks Baftas is Rooney Mara in Givenchy Couture. We love the shoulder detailing and the pale colour against her skin. She offsets the femininity with a giant metallic headband, which shouldn’t work, but totally does in our books.

Dakota Johnson at The Baftas

We love a bit of red on the red carpet, and Dakota Johnson stuns in this (very!) low-cut Dior gown. We love the ruffle details and how elegant the simple silhouette is. Loose waves and a red lip finish the look off perfectly.

Alicia Vikander 2016 Baftas

We pretty much love everything Alicia Vikander wears on the red-carpet, and this Louis Vuitton gown has shot her to our #1 spot. Never afraid to rock interesting textures and embellishments, this leather dress with silver embellishment is gorgeous! Not an easy look to wear, again we’re loving the undone hair and dark lip.
