style insider / hannah gee

For this installment of our ‘Style Insider’ feature, we got chatting to local independent business owner Hannah Gee, whose treasure trove of a boutique, Love Inc. is always enticing us through the doors. We chat about the work/life balance and wardrobe must-haves for the new season!

You run a gorgeous shop on the Tunbridge Wells High Street, Love Inc. What was the inspiration behind setting it up?

I am a lover of beautiful artefacts for the home. I wanted to share my passion for interiors and quirky bits and pieces with the rest of the world!

As well as running your own business, you’re a mum of 3…what’s your secret to fitting it all in?

Lists are very important! My 3 boys come first, and being my own business, I can steer work how I chose to, which helps. I have an amazing team at Love Inc, so learning to delegate has been an important learning curve!

What is your go-to outfit for a busy day on the shop floor?

Something that is individual, stands out and makes me feel like I can achieve anything. In summer I have a variety of summer dresses that make me feel special. I also own a (large!) number of jackets from bod & ted that I can team with jeans and cool trainers and make me look smart but a bit edgy, which I like for the winter.

What are the key pieces for AW16 that you want in your wardrobe?

I really want a monochrome jacket, that is beautifully tailored and suitable for park with the boys or the shop floor.

What is your favourite piece from the bod & ted AW16 collections?

My favourite piece from the collection is the dress I’m wearing (which I actually ended up buying!) I love a dress with pockets, and its so flattering in its cut. It will look great with bare legs in autumn, and then super cool with some snazzy tights throughout winter. Totally versatile, and suitable for a business presentation, or just to be on the shop floor. I love it!

What are your favourite and least favourite trends from this season?

I’m not a massive follower of trends, but I love sequins, perfect for the party season and I’m not a fan of the dungaree!

How would you describe your style in 3 words?

Understated, uplifting and comfortable!

What are your wardrobe essentials?

Good jeans, statement jackets, a mixture of mid heel’s and trainers

Who is your style icon?

Lynne Meek, a personal stylist based in Tunbridge Wells, who is a friend of mine, but always, always, looks so good. She knows how to interpret trends to suit herself and is totally rocking a more mature lady’s fashion.
