DRAPERS FASHION INDEPENDENTS AWARDS 2022 – WE WON!!

Last month Sophie and Ellie were beyond excited to attend The Drapers Fashion Independents Awards at Grosvenor House in London.  Short-listed some months ago, to be invited as Finalists at this prestigious event was a great honour.  Considered to be the Oscars of the independent fashion retail industry, Bod & Ted were finalists in not just one but two categories;  Womenswear Independent of the Year and Best Multi-Channel Independent.

Every year, the judging panel, consisting of a team of widely experienced industry experts, are tasked with finding the very best independent retailers from across the UK.  This year, the focus was on how independent retailers have proved their resilience and ability to adapt to changing consumer behaviour over the two years since the Covid-19 pandemic took hold and how to do business better – becoming more responsible, sustainable and digitally savvy, while still providing customers with top-quality, beautifully designed product.

We are so proud to announce that, amongst thirteen other women’s independent fashion retailer finalists, Bod & Ted were judged to have been the very best at innovating to survive, supporting the local community and building a stronger business under the toughest of circumstances.  Sophie and Ellie were delighted to receive the fabulous glass trophy that is now proudly displayed in our shop window on Tunbridge Wells High Street: “Drapers Womenswear Independent of the Year 2022”.

Sophie, who started the business with her dearest Mum or “Mama B” nearly 14 years ago, is over the moon with such an incredible endorsement from Drapers who are so well respected across the industry and wanted to thank them, as well as her team and all of our wonderful, supportive customers who “inspire us every day to bring you the best of the best of fashion”.
